Application first
12.4-28 tractor tire application requirements
Describe the work cycle and ground conditions so a supplier can evaluate the requested tire against the actual machine duty.

Field traction and cultivated ground
A field request should record crop, soil condition, slope, operating speed, axle loading and the tasks performed. Include the existing size and construction, rim details and any paired front/rear tire restrictions stated by the machine manufacturer. A 12.4-28 marking alone does not define the load capacity or approve a substitute.
Ask the factory for the exact model's load and inflation information and applicable speed conditions. Request the dimensions relevant to the installation. A photographic tread comparison cannot establish traction or safe loading in your field conditions.
Mixed farm yards, loader duties and road travel
Mixed work introduces competing priorities. The buyer may value a tread for yard wear and stability while field work calls for a different traction compromise. Explain how often the tractor moves between soil, gravel and paved surfaces. If loader or implement duty changes axle loading, include the operating configuration for technical review.
R4 tractor tires may be proposed for a mixed-duty request, but the tread label does not confirm rim compatibility or field suitability. Keep the alternative separate and ask for the manufacturer's documented operating limits. Public-road requirements depend on the exact use and destination; confirm them with the appropriate local reviewer.
Dealer and distributor replenishment
For a mixed order, list each size and quantity independently. Identify tube or tubeless requirements, private-label or plain marking preferences, packaging, stock-code mapping and document needs. State whether tires are ordered as individual units, pairs or shipment lots to prevent a unit-price misunderstanding.
Compare MOQ by size, mixed-load conditions, sample representativeness and handling costs. A lower budget may favor simpler packing or a different commercial service package; it must not silently reduce the specified loading or substitute incompatible construction. Premium and mid-range are buyer preferences, not verified grades.
Seasonal maintenance and phased replacement
List the US delivery location, desired arrival window and any mounting appointment. Confirm production readiness, dispatch, freight transit and final installation separately. Ask how batch traceability, damage claims, warranty exclusions and replacement support are documented. Availability requires a supplier response.
Before acceptance, compare the proposed sample to the written brief, record deviations and obtain the appropriate fit approval. Machine power or capacity class, drive arrangement, PTO horsepower and three-point hitch information explain the farm equipment context; tire load/speed documents remain the controlling evidence for tire selection.
The examples above are purchasing situations, not measured customer outcomes. Review catalog inquiry options before sending a request; specifications and supplier capacity must be confirmed for the actual model.
Describe the job behind the tire size
Send operating conditions, quantity and destination along with the sidewall and rim details. Include seasonal timing and any inspection or document requirement.
